For the NBA All-Star Weekend, SEG Systems was asked to create a custom lightbox stage for the eBay and High Snobiety collaboration. The event catered to sneakerheads and basketball fans alike with their Shoezeum (the world’s first sneaker museum) pop-up in Charlotte’s own, McColl Center for Art and Innovation. A modular central staging enclosure, highlighting the auctioneer’s collections, paired with a photogenic, multi-layered mixture of plexiglass, colored mirror, and lightboxes was utilized as a backdrop to showcase exclusive interviews, DJ performances and a digital silent auction. Made up of a custom millwork and an acrylic floor that mimicked a basketball court surrounded by SEG lightbox displays, the custom SEG Systems centerpiece was the focal point of the event.

Stand out from the lightbox crowd by adding 3D elements to enhance your silicone edge graphics.

In this example, Marvin the Martian’s hands were bursting out of this lightbox. This was achieved by CNC milling sign foam which was then vinyl wrapped. The sign foam pieces were then mounted onto the face of SEG’s evenly lit lightbox. When Dr Pepper decided to launch their brand-new flavor, strawberries and cream they came to SEG Systems and the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets to help with the new label. Sound quirky? Well, it’s because they wanted to relabel a few Dr. Pepper bottles that stand over 10-feet tall at the Spectrum Center that we put together for them last year.

Here is a look at the newly wrapped Dr Pepper bottles that will be sure to delight more than just the NBA Charlotte Hornet fans! If you want to see how we made the bottles check this out here.

Need to upgrade your retail experience? This Johnston & Murphy’s merchandise gondola header was constructed by retrofitting a double-sided backlit graphic frame to fit seamlessly on top of their existing millwork merchandise gondola. This frame was constructed from SEG Systems’ double-sided lightbox extrusion, mounted on risers with graphics that can be changed out to coincide with the season.
